With a Masters degree in French language, literature and cinema, Allan undertook doctoral studies in France at the Centre de Recherche sur l’Imaginaire, where his interest in innovative multi-media experiences began.

For the past 18 years he has led the creative design and implementation of numerous exhibitions and visitor attractions for Gibson International, including 10 years working on large-scale visitor experience projects in France and Denmark, largely in French and English, but also in German and Spanish.

An experienced television and multimedia producer and director, he has developed special expertise in leading edge interactive and immersive exhibition experiences.

He led the concept and content development for Gibson’s two major French projects, Paléosite and Cité de l’Huître and was responsible for the writing of all fit-out and related exhibition specialty tenders, and the supervision of the resultant contracts.

He led the turn-key contract to produce the 12-metre mobile interactive exhibition Væggen (The Wall) for the Museum of Copenhagen, and he led the development and installation of the hi-tech youth experience OurSpace for Te Papa, Museum of New Zealand. Both projects have subsequently been internationally recognised for their cutting edge exhibition design and implementation.

His most recent visitor experience digital design work is Objects of Love, Works of Love (Museum of Copenhagen), TouchCityTM Wall (El Paso Museum of History, Texas) and the recently opened Beautiful Science Gallery (Otago Museum).
