Our CEO Appointed To Lead Te Auaha

27/03/2017
Gibson Group congratulates Victoria Spackman, our CEO, who has accepted a prestigious role as the Director of the New Zealand Institute of Applied Creativity Te Auaha, to be opened in Wellington in early 2018.

Te Auaha brings together most of the creative courses of the two Wellington polytechnics – WelTec and Whitireia – under one new, custom-built roof, including the NZ film and TV school. Victoria was attracted by the opportunity to contribute in a new way to the creativity of Wellington and New Zealand. “I see this as a once in a lifetime opportunity to build something new and important for the New Zealand creative sector,” she says.

Allan Smith and Brett Tompkins co-owners with Victoria in the Gibson Group say “For nearly 40 years Gibson Group has been part of Wellington’s creative sector and while we are sorry to see Victoria leave us in her full-time capacity, her passions for creativity and Wellington are values we share. Over the years many people have passed through our doors to take on regional and national leadership roles that support and promote the creative industries. It is a track record we are very proud of and long may it continue.”

Victoria will also sit on the joint senior leadership team of the polytechnics as Director Creative and remains a shareholder and director of the Gibson Group to continue her interest in the company’s future.

Victoria takes up her new role at Te Auaha from late May 2017.
