DRAGONS IN A DISTANT LAND

A look at an education in New Zealand through the eyes of aspiring Chinese students.

 

New Zealand and China have enjoyed a friendship for over 40 years, each year thousands of young students from all over China come to study at New Zealand’s schools and universities.

Dragons in a Distant Land is a 2-part factual series in Mandarin.  In Episode One we follow six young students who are currently studying and living in New Zealand and learn first-hand about their experiences and what they think of New Zealand and New Zealanders.

In Episode Two we talk with returned alumni (“Haigui”) in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.  We look at their achievements and learn how their New Zealand experience contributed to their success and gave them the confidence to be part of an exciting, changing and challenging China.

Dragons in a Distant Land is available in HD or SD as 2 x 48 minute commercial programmes in Mandarin; as 2 x 48 minute programmes in Mandarin with English subtitles; and also as 4 x 24 minute programmes in either format.
