Mirror, Mirror is a high adventure children's drama series set in a time tunnel. The story revolves around a handsome antique mirror that acts as a gateway between the present and the past.
The first series of Mirror, Mirror went on to win Best Children's Television Drama in the 1996 New Zealand Film and Television Awards. Mirror, Mirror was also a finalist in the Australian Film and Television Awards and two of the young actors also won Special Awards. Television New Zealand then entered it in the prestigious Prix Jeunesse (which is considered the top Children's competition in the world) and for the fist time in fifteen years, a New Zealand drama was selected as a finalist. Later that year, Mirror, Mirror won Gold at the World Television Festival in Houston.
The first series of Mirror, Mirror has been sold to well over fifty countries worldwide, including the UK's Channel 5, Germany's Nickelodeon, France's Canal Plus, and TVE Spain. On the success of this, in 1997 the Gibson Group co-produced a second series with Millennium Pictures (Australia).
