In 1998 The Gibson Group comedy production team was wholly focussed upon casting, scripting and producing a new prime-time comedy for TV2 subsequently entitled Newsflash. This show was an attempt to combine some of New Zealand's most seasoned television comedians with some fresh stand-up comedy talent.
The action centred on the antics of the television journalists working on a small news / magazine style television show. Thirteen episodes were produced, and the show ran between September and December 1998.
